Film Poster photos

These photos are photos we took on the day of filming to use for our film poster. The blurred photo was accidental at the time but looking at it now it would be a good one to use as it would signify the mothers blurred perception on reality. We also agree that the photo's without flash are better as the dark colours and the only light being from the candles makes the image have connotations of mystery. We agreed on the lay out of these images to be the layout of the image we would want for the poster because the table is set out like a child's birthday party yet the actors have a saddened expression on their faces this will hopefully give the audience a puzzled feeling and would make them want to find out more. The mise-en-scene and the fact that the child is not in shot may signal some of the plot to the audience but still hid the twist and the focus being on the birthday cake which is in the centre of the shot in the middle of the table will hopefully draw the audience in an encourage them to see the movie to find out more. Although the poster does not have bright colours to attract the audience's eye we think the style of poster we are hoping to achieve will be enough and a subtle eye catcher with the dark colours and an interesting layout will be enough to give a connotation of mystery and encourage the audience to want to find out more.
